"What were your three most 'valuable' years?" This question emerged like a lantern in the darkness, guiding both me and my mentoring clients toward profound truths about our lives. It stands as one of those watershed years in my journey – a year that broke me open. It began with surrender. In January, I knew to place my Palm Springs condo on the market, not knowing what lay ahead. By April, as escrow closed, I found myself facing mountains of possessions – each item weighted with memories and meaning. The process of letting go was poignant and painful. Every decision to release or keep tested my commitment to transformation. Yet grace appeared in unexpected places. In June, my daughter Dr. Lexi Welanetz and I discovered what felt impossible – a home in Thousand Oaks that seemed to have been waiting just for us. Behind gates that promise peace, we each found our own sacred space to heal and grow. The magical timing, as always, proved perfect. Life wasn't finished teaching me about surrender. October brought me face-to-face with mortality through a heart attack and surgery. In those quiet hospital hours, I learned deeper lessons about vulnerability and strength. Yet here I am, not just surviving but thriving – even sharing precious moments with Lexi among the twinkling lights of Christmas markets in Austria and Germany. In fact, I’m feeling stronger than I have in years. And in the midst of all this beautiful chaos, another kind of magic unfolded.
