My dear friends,

Spring has been a season of opening for me, in more ways than I can count.

I have been curating my studio, writing more love letters than ever, and finishing a new book together with two oracle card decks that will be published this fall. I have even been conjuring letters that feel as though they arrive not from me at all, but from what I can only call "The Love Behind Everything." Those are my favorites.

And then a spiritual teacher Jonathan Ashford wrote something that stopped me mid-breath.

“Never regret loving. The regret is never in the loving. It is only in the withholding of love.”

— Jonathan Ashford

I have been alive long enough to know this is true, not as philosophy, but as lived experience worn into my bones.

For nearly forty years, an organization my late husband Paul and I founded opened a door every single week. We called it The Inside Edge. What walked through that door was something we could never have planned or managed... it was pure human longing to be seen, to matter, to connect at a depth the ordinary world rarely permits. Week after week, strangers became soul family. And every time it happened, I felt it, that particular satisfaction that lives below joy, deeper than happiness. I can only call it the feeling of having been used well by life.

Jonathan calls it surrendering to something true. He says the discomfort of opening is not a warning. It is the sensation of touching what is real.

Yes. Exactly yes.

And so I keep opening doors.

The audiobook of my romantic memoir, Send Me Someone: A True Story of Love Here and Hereafter, is soon to be published by Audible. This is the story that took me ten years to write, the story of Paul, of love that refuses to end, of what happens when you dare to ask the universe to send you someone and it actually does. The Lifetime Network once optioned the film rights. That door never opened... but I have a feeling that springing into summer, this story is ready to find its screen. Life, like love, has its own perfect timing.

I am eighty-five years old and I have no interest in protecting myself from the beautiful discomfort of opening. I want more of it. I want to sit across from someone I have never met, someone who found me through a podcast or a prayer or what I can only describe as divine appointment and feel that unmistakable current of recognition.

We have never been disconnected. We simply forgot.

This is why I am still here, writing to you, opening new doors.
